What are Water Works?
The structures that take the water from the river or dam lake and give it to the transmission systems are called water intake structures. The entrance sections of water intake structures are called water intake openings or sockets. It is aimed to provide regular flow conditions in the design of water intake structures.
Points to be considered in the design of the water intake structure;
•The ability to take the necessary water at all times
• No damage to the water intake and transmission system during the flood
• Preventing the entry of floating objects into the transmission system
• Preventing the passage of solid matter into the transmission system •Preventing the passage of fish to the transmission system
• Low head loss in the water intake structure
• When necessary, the amount of water taken can be measured by inspecting
•Easy business maintenance
